Which system AMD or Intel?

Im just about to build a new desktop and cant decide between an AMD or INTEL setup. Anyone know which system would perform better or any other reasons to choose one over the other. Both combos work out the same price so budget isnt a factor.

The system would be used for gaming + general home usage (internet, Photo/video editing, etc)

Intel is better. AMD is a lot less expensive. When you are using it for gaming or image design work, go with the Intel. Otherwise, the AMD works fine, but generally runs hotter. Other aspects come into play, such as video graphics card, case size, cpu, heatsink, and fan location.
Both boards are dated, but the prices are right.
