Who do you live near?

i live in good 'ol London, specifically East London, where they'll be hosting 2012 olympics. pretty close to my house actually, the olympic stadium will be about a 15 min bus ride from my house.

Please don't be offended, but I want to clear something up. Do you talk in a gravelly half whisper? Only the whole cast of that travesty that is 'Eastenders' does. If not I feel for your pain and appologise for bringing it up.

I live near Leeds. That's the orrigional, industrial-age city in the north of England. It's in a county called North-Yorkshire and no, none of us in my experience closely resemble the group of stereotypes doubtlessly currently resident on the cast of 'Emerdale'.

For soap-opera fans offended by my comments I can only say,
"Get a hobby, not a passtime."

hahah thats never going to hapen. This is one of the biggest threads i have ever seen

Aaargh........and I thought this was ONE board which was safe from ANY reference to any damned soap!

Posting from the jersey shore home of bon jovi and probably even worst singers maybe i will take a trip across the pond to see good old london one day

I'm from Liverpool, UK. Winning the European capital of culture (i have no idea how) has turned this place from being a dump that clung onto the Beatles into a decent, forward looking city again.

Incidentally, my bro lives down in east London now. Lives in docklands on the side of the Thames (in a swanky pad i have to say) not far from Canary Wharf (where he used to work). I always wondered why those people on Eastenders whispered to eachother, though i've never watched more than 5minutes of it in my entire live.

I live near Ogden UT, and what a fun place that is to live. But we do have the greatest snow on earth you know.

Hot

I live in SW Mesa, AZ. The Summers last here 'till Nov. and it's common to have 100 degree days in OCT.

Hey, I've been on and off Techspot, but I always forgot to intruduce myself:

I live on an island called Amager, which is part of Copenhagen, the capitol city of Denmark (member of UN and EU) and yes that IS a country in Europe in case you were wondering where you heard it before.

I consider myself a windows-expert (not a computer-expert as I have very limited experience with other os'), an ok hardware-guy, a c++ noob, a gfx artist and a Flash guru!

I noticed that most people here are from the US, but there are any danes or people on vacation i Denmark, please stop by, but ONLY if you have any interest in any of the stuff I mentioned! And NO NOOBS!
Maybe I could mentor you in flash and you could teach me some c++?

Some ***** told me that, allthough Amager is a very small part of Denamrk, 50% of all murders in Denmark are commited on Amager, but please don't let that stupid statistic scare you off.

Listen I won't tie you up.
I wont tie you to a chair and force you to eat green stuff, I grew between my toes, until you proclaim Firefox as the superior browser!

I'm a kind and helpfull guy that likes too draw, hates french class and is interested in computers.

Land of the Carlsberg, the Mermaid and that famous Tivoli Garden. Keep up the good work and stay away from drawing those cartoons!!! Cheers.

I live in a place called "Sale" which is sandwhiched between Machester and Altrincham, the 2 closest landmarks are the "Manchester United Football ground" and "manchester city football ground" .

I am also about 40 miles from Howard Hopkinso, I really must go and see the guy one day...:)

I've played Rugby against Sale Sharks Academy, at their ground, needless to say we got hammered. (I play for Waterloo in Liverpool if you're a rugby follower).

Tacitus.

I live in Beetsterzwaag, a small village in the North of the Netherlands. Fotunately, as the country is small, it will only take me about 1,5 hours by car or about 2 by train to get to Amsterdam. We have lots of nice woods around where it is pleasant to walk and, you won't belive it: about half of the kids around 10 years old ride one-wheeled bycicles. They are astonishing smart with them. At my age I am not gonnaa try to do the same, I stick to my sidecar-combo.

If you look at the side, I live in Detroit, MI, 48204. You know, the Motor City, Home of GM, Ford, Chrystler? The city full of black people? Detroit River? DPS? Detroit Public Schools? Kwame Kilpatrick, the mayor of Detroit? You know, DTE Energy Company? The city in the state surrounded by the Great Lakes, the world's largest supply of freshwater? I guess you don't know then. Oh well.

to Greatman05

Hey Greatman05,
a funny coincidence is that one of my sisters married an American and lives in a small town close by Detroit. So I knew of some of the things you mentioned. And you forgot to mention Motown the famous '60 soul label!
Greetings,
Egbert

I live in Jacksonville, FL- the biggest city land wise in the continental US. 854 sq miles of ... well, lots of driving, no central area, so basically a clique-y, segregated, underdeveloped, racist, redneck city. I bought a Jaguar and use the 12’ PowerBook in it so I may watch Eddie Izzard or The Big Sleep, the only (in-car) moving distractions that can keep me happy, since I basically drive maybe 30 to 45 minutes to see each client, which definitely limits the amount of work that can be done in a day. No accidents yet. But yes, there is a noticeably low morale in this city because people just don't do anything... nobody feels like driving 45 minutes to see their friend's friend's ****ty band playing to 4 people in a former retail appliance or pizza shop.

Damn, I forgot that? Oh well. I was born in 1992, and I think I listened to MOtown, just didn't know they were in Detroit....well, you learn something new everyday!

I live in Billings, Montana... It is the largest city in Montana. I was born in Hollywood, California and I lived in Tarzana, in the San Fernando Valley for my first 23 years. I spent 12 years in Richmond, Virginia too.
