Who do you live near?

I would LOVE to visit Australia, you guys have a lack of computer repair guys down there? Which city has the best weather, is close to the ocean, and has the best cost of living ratio?

best weather would be around brisbane-gold coast area, although sydney's not too bad as well.. brissie if you want to go beach alot.. has near perfect weather all year (or at least the times i've been there, tho abit of rain), lots of theme parks and stuff.. sydney also have some decent beaches.. not much in terms of theme parks (and i think theres only 1 left now.. thats at the harbour somewhere) but we have everything else that no other state has.. the big olympic park venue.. 6 or so hrs drive to the ACT canberra, 12hrs drive to brissie, or 8hr drive to melbourn (three most common places ANYONE would visit) and other great places like huge shopping centers etc *hint hint*... dont know much about the rest of the country.. usualy dont get a chance to travel much.. maybe the other aussies can fill you in on that... as for best cost/living ratio i wouldn't have a clue..
although as far as tech goes here.. we're a bit behind the americans, defenatly better than the indo/philo/viet/cam area (no offence to those peps) but not as diverse as the japs or hong kong or tiwanese people although to find a good shop that sells parts very cheap but good quality may require good google and contacts skills.. and i do wonder what insanity might arise for u US guys when you start writing centre as center and color with colour among other things..... :D

as for computer tech people.. i think we have a good ratio to area thing happening.. with half the people i know having to do something within that industry or as a hobby.. there's a guy next door that runs an IT company so thats one of them.. the other works under contracts but with realy cool companies/big names.. i guess the reason why not much of us are here is because
a)paly too much MMORPG or other games...
b)have a company or too busy to go forums much
c)possibly a aussie version of TS floating around somewhere... (havent started looking for one.. this ones just too good atm)

Anyways.. i'm off. its 3 am and my mouth hurts from work from talking to computer illiterate customers that has too many questions....

I live in Ithaca, NY next to Cayuga Lake

Hey Fenunn - I don't think you were born yet when I was at Cornell - Finger Lakes, College Town and all that.... beautiful area in Upstate New York ... what do you say Fenunn?? Cheers :D

N3051M - Thanks for the info. Sounds like you guys could use a big wholesale PC parts company down there. Hmm, business venture anyone? Ausi Newegg? Ausiegg?

Reason I asked is because a friend of mine was looking for a job in an online job search and just happened to notice loads of regular PC Repair type jobs over there. A lot more then what you find in my area.

Cost of living is just, what is the average wages compared to, say, owning a small house about 1500sq ft. Like are we talking you can't get a job for more then $10 and hour, with small houses starting at $300,000. That is high cost of living to income. But if a job easily comes at $15 an hour with a house that is $180k, that ain't so bad.

Oh I do love the ocean, don't get much of it here in the desert!

I live in Ruislip in Middlesex in the UK. Nothing special, well, its a dump actually. I used to live in Portsmouth but that was even worse.

This is great! No busy bodies telling you not to give out your personal details. Well I live in Bexhill (which is near the better known hasting with the highest rate of peidophiles in the UK), on the South coast of England.

The correct spelling is actually paedophile. :p

If you`re only a young person. It really isn`t a good idea to give out personal details, especially on the net. Too many weirdo`s about.

Pedant.

1. One who pays undue attention to book learning and formal rules.
2. One who exhibits one's learning or scholarship ostentatiously.
3. Obsolete. A schoolmaster.

I think it isn't a good idea to give out personal details on the net even if you aren't young.

You might want to check punctuation in addition to spelling, too :p

Apart from the full stop, that should have been a comma. I`m not sure what you mean lol.

Regards Howard :)

i think it is unkind to point out spelling and punctuation, after all we are all of different levels of intelligence and abilties. there are much greater thing to be concerned over.

I`m pretty sure Mictlantecuhtli was just having a laugh at my expense.

However, I thank you for your concern.
