I have lived in South Florida for the past 30 odd years. Hoping to move to the booming metropolis of Floral City in Central Florida, where I own a home, VERY soon. I must admit, it's interesting to see the diverse population on this site. Looks like ages are as diverse as locations!

anyone from Glasgow, Scotland is still welcome to contact me if they live there or are in the area,.

So far, I've only managed to meet Mr. Garibaldi in real life but I am hoping for more.

I may be being dragged to a Celtic match sometime. Which means I'll be in Glasgow but with a 50/50 chance you'll want to kill me :)
  12. Phantasm66 Newcomer, in training Posts: 6,504

Oh, I see 50/50 because if I don't support Celtic then I will support Rangers.

I don't have much interest in footie at all, although my family are of the Rangers alignment.

So I don't really care if you support Celtic or not.

    You f#$#@ng tim! ;)
  13. MYOB Newcomer, in training Posts: 527

Well I've yet to meet a Scot that doesn't have a mild preference to one or the other....

And I don't really support Celtic anyway, hence the comment about being dragged over... All my friends do, and they also support either United or Chelski. Damn glory hunters.

Are you saying that my visit wasn't good enough?!? ;) :D

I am a bit suprised that you and Arris haven't met yet. You're both from the same area (though Arris does spend a lot of time in Italy), so it shouldn't be too hard to arrange.

Anyways, with WorldCon 2005 being help in Glasgow, that might be a place where some of us could meet...
As I doubt we're the only two people on the board interested in Science Fiction/fantasy, though we do have the obvious nicks.....

I live in a small east Lancashire town called Colne [pronounced cown]. The nearest city to me is Blackburn about 20 miles away the next biggest city is Manchester which is about 35 miles away. Colne is an old market town parts of which date back to the 12th century. Unfortunately it`s now a bit of a **** hole I.E crap pubs ugly women and lots of drug users, but it`s home I guess. OK, so I'll join the fray. New member, male (47) that's sad, isn't it, admitting to being 47 I mean, not being a new member. I live in Norwich, Norfolk, England. Pretty city, medieval and all that but can be boring at times for younger people. Inhabitants can be a little 'close knit' and not especially open to new idea's or visitors but I'm a nice person and not like the rest. I enjoy quaffing the odd beer or three (getting old and lose count easily nowadays), am an eternal optomist and love meeting new people so if any of you guys (and girls) fancy meeting up to imbibe the odd beverage, feel free to contact me. You all take care now...

Norwich - land of Delia Smith :)
  19. AdrianScotter Newcomer, in training Posts: 52

    Who?

Nah, just kidding. Before Delia nobody had ever heard of Norwich (one of my suppliers thought it was in Wales - my apologies to any Welsh listeners). Now we have Delia and a full 2% of the UK population has heard of Norwich. Not sure if that's good or bad... now the rest of the population may want to come and live here... LOL

I'd heard of it before Delia, its just she's made it more famous

Being a supporter of a Championship team, I know the more obscure places in the UK a bit better.
