Whole buncha J2SE Runtime Environment updates in add/remove programs: Why? Delete?

  1. Hi - I noticed that in add/remove programs I've got the J2SE runtime environment 5.0 - and updates number 2, 5, 6, 9, 10 and 11. These weigh in at about 100-120mb each... should I be deleting any of them or don't dare? (Are they cumulative, in other words.)

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Uninstall them all, except for the latest update 11.

Howard is correct -- one caution; there's a difference between the
JRE (Java Runtime Environment) and JDK (Java Development Kit)

You may keep ONE of each.

Personally, I set an ENVIRONMENT var JAVARTE=c:\path\to\specific and then
reference it as %JAVARTE% where necessary.
