Why no audio from HDTV?

  1. jackwagon Newcomer, in training

    I did a custom build and put in a sound card. Connected to Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers and sounds great. Running the new Radeon HD 6970 GC with HDMI out to HDTV. How can I get sound to come out of the TV (monitor) and Klipsch speakers at the same time. I get no sound out of the tv.

    You can go into Control Panel -> Sound -> Playback, but I'm pretty sure you have to choose one or the other as your default device.

    HDMI carries auto, BUT only if the Radeon controller is connected to the M/B audio.
    Verify your Radeon install and settings.
