Wifi connected but no internet

I’ve just reformatted an old PC to give to my in-laws to play age of empires on. I’ve installed XP SP3. I have a TP-Link TL-WN951N which I’ve installed the driver for.
I have a connection but no internet.
The network diagnostic wizard says “windows cannot connect to the internet using http, https, or FTP, this is probably caused by firewall settings on this computer”
I have no virus protection yet and the firewall is disabled?
I’ve checked many threads but no luck
Any ideas?

The firewall is one of the LEAST likely issues. Find the Make/Model of the WiFi chip on that system and then go to that website and look for the correct driver for XP

I’ve sort of sorted it, I have downloaded chrome V49 as it’s the last version compatible with XP. I’m now surfing, I assume the IE version installed was too early for most websites (including Microsoft update). Thanks for the responses
