Will a DDR2 GPU run on an DDR3 motherboard?

  1. last question i have before iv finished me comp.
    As my ATI gpu made an annoying noise, iv gotten out an Nvidia. I noticed that it was DDR2, would it still run on my DDR3 set up?

    It's not a stupid question if someone learns something from it. Glad you found your answer and for any others who may be wondering the same thing, the type of memory on the GPU doesn't really matter to the system board, just the interface/spec matters.
