Will mobile Pentium 4 work on a desktop motherboard?

    Will the Pentium 4 Mobile 3.06Ghtz pulled from a toshiba laptop work on a socket 478 motherboard? I heard it can, but at reduced speeds.

    It will athough you may need a BI0S Flash. The thing with Mobile CPUs is that they lack a heat speader so you will have to modify your fan.99.9 of fans will need to be modified or whatever type cooling device you use.

    Is it doable yes. Average bob no. I had to use a grinder to cut down my plastic bracet (socket 754) for my media pc in the living room.
