Hi all. Will games designed to run with xp dx9 / vista dx10 gain any thing by running them in windows7 dx11 or will the 'virtual xp' thats built into windows7 run them as per normal?
I am wondering as im about to load all my games onto a 500gb hdd that I have just reformatted and tweaked and am planning on just using it for gaming.

From my understanding and experience with programs created for XP/Vista, they will run in compatibility mode for as long as they are active. The same goes for any other program for older editions of Windows.

So a game desighned for xp wont be able to utilize dx 11 as it is run in compatability mode which is really only normal xp anyway, correct?

Nope, xp uses dx 9. vista got a dx11 patch but windows 7 uses it more effectively
