Win XP Locks Computer

I can't find anything on this problem and am hoping someone can help. About every 20 minutes when inactive, my notebook behaves as though a power option causes it to go into standby and it locks itself. I have to hit ctl-alt-del and then log in again to get back up. This is really annoying when I'm on a trip and using gps with the computer. I've set the power settings to NEVER go off and screen saver to NONE, but it keeps on doing it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Techspot
There are probabley settings in BIOS . did you set them?
Also there are usually 2 setups for a portable.1 when battery is connected and 1 when you are plugged in.
You disable the lock under User settings for How you Logon.
I do not know if it is a good idea to totally disable standby on a portable though you could loose Data if your battery went down at an inappropriate time.

actually what you want to do is disable your screen saver... or on the screensave tab uncheck password protect. this should resolve your problem.
