Win XP/ OE 6 Attached .jpg files are delivered as .bmp files

Scanned files are saved in .bmp format. Photos I upload are resized and saved as jpg's.

I have one recipient that receives them in .bmp format. Why are the photo files changed to BMP when I send them as jpg????????? This is a real hassle since I have to send numerous pics which then have to be saved in the correct format.

It does not matter if I attach the file or insert it into the email. I just sent a document saved as .bmp. She saved the file and when it printed was the size of a postage stamp and unreadable.

Is the problem on my end or hers?

Because the recipient's email program is changing them! It is NOT your problem!
