win98 laptop help

    I'm trying to setup my ibm laptop running win98 on my network that are all win xphome..I made a network setup disk, put it in the laptop ran the setup and it reboots, but i get a error when it start up saying i need to configure my network card.Not sure what i need to do..Thanks for any help

    A few things.. has the card worked in the past?

    What exactly are you trying to achieve with the network setup disk? Internet Connection Sharing?

    Check the drivers for the card, and the associated software that usually comes with it- manufacturers annoyingly insist on forcing that on you.

    Also, right click on network neighborhood, goto properties. In the popup window, remove all protocols that you see there (TCP/IP, IPX/SPX are the most common..) Reboot. Then rerun the network setup disk.

    Can you tell us what type of card you're using? And can you see other computers in the network neighborhood?

    I got it..

    I reinstalled the drive's and it's is good to go now..
