Windows 7 Pro XP mode not working

    Hi

    I recently bought a new PC with windows 7 pro installed, on the understanding I could use it in XP mode for my old programs

    However, after downloading xp mode and windows virtual pc, it won't work

    I get an error message stating there is no hardware assisted virtualization on the machine

    If you have an Intel processor, some do not support XP mode.

    I think this is going to be an unpleasant surprise for many who just bought a new PC. See this post for more about which Intel processors do / don't support virtualization
