Windows 8 discussion

That's a question only you can answer for yourself. Good luck with what ever you decide. There is no doubt in my mind I will be staying with Win7.

Thanks. I did decide to go with Windows 8. I see that IE11 is just as broken as it was when it first came out. The rest seem to work just fine. Just going to take a while to get used to.
Sorry took so long to respond. I've been very ill.

Thanks. I did decide to go with Windows 8.
Good luck, and best wishes. :)
I see that IE11 is just as broken as it was when it first came out.
Somewhere around a year after IE10 was released, I started using Opera. Then Opera developers decided to use Google's (I avoid anything Google) old webkit. The old Opera was starting to show its age, and I switched to Firefox about 6 months ago. While not using IE10, I did keep IE10 updated even after performing system recoveries. That is until this last recovery, I've not updated IE8. And when IE11 came out, I had three machines start odd behaviors. I have yet to install IE11 and don't plan on it. The sad thing is if IE11 is not hidden within Windows Update, it will automatically install. Automatic install is what broke the systems of which clued me in on not wanting IE11.

Windows 8, IE11, Office 365 , WMP, Homegroup, (the list keeps going) have all become creations I don't care for. At least Office 2013 is still available, but it is a matter of time before Office is only available through subscription and completely cloud based.

Even if Microsoft does release an OS I consider worthy, I'm not so sure I want to continue supporting their management strategies. Someone (if not all of them) on that team is still in search for their marbles.

I have to use IE, though. Firefox has problem with battlelog (Battlefield games). It crashes the games for me. Chrome is junk, but since IE11 seems to have issues of working with YouTube, it's the only solution for watching videos on that website.
I'd like to move on from windows. For now I have to stick with it, though. All the games I play are best played on windows based PCs.

If your going to play games on Windows 8.1 Update 1 with the latest update. They you need to get yourself.

Wise Game Booster (run this once)
JetBoost (this you can configure) then run it. But remember with JetBoost you have to restore your system back.

These 100% free programs goal is to speed up the PC. Windows 8 you'll see that is running a lot of extra processes that can slow that the system and use a more RAM. MS has a lot of extra programs running in the background. Window 7 didn't have these. What MS should do is offer Windows 8 without Metro desktop and Live-bla-bla. Without these two features would make the Windows 8 sell more. But MS doesn't want to turn Windows 8 into another Windows 7. So this is how it goes folks.

I have visited several Forums but cannot find out how to ask a simple question, as no provision seems to be made for such a mad idea, can you help/ because I want to understand something about my comuter. thanks

What makes you think it does not? Have you tried opening Task Manager and right clicking within the CPU Graphs and selecting "Change Graph to logical processors"? You should show a total of 8 logical processors due to hyperthreading on that processor.

I had to open MS config and go to whatever and select 4 processors and also max memory,
But thank you for the tip although what that will do I do not know?
