I got a winlogon.exe error and it shut my computer down and completely rebooted the system and all was well. Now it is has done it again and the system constantly starts up with the window logo and then shuts off and goes through the entire cycle over and over. It will not load in any mode (safe or otherwise)

The operating system is XP Media.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Your copy of Windows is corrupt - this may be a sign of a dying hard drive.
Boot from the original install CD; follow the wizard until you reach the option to repair the windows installation. Ignore that and opt for install windows - follow instructions and then select repair. The critical windows files will be removed and replaced. If this does not work you will have to replace the windows installation.

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Doing a Windows repair as per this thread HERE, should leave all your data intact.
