You could confirm the Ethernet cable is secure, and where it connects to (ie the Modem) is on Otherwise if you just want to re-install (using your Windows CD) then I suppose that's cleaner (better) Although it can also be a Hardware fault on your Network Card Or even in corrupted system Bios setup, you could run defaults in there to remove this option as a possible cause
