Windows Installer Error Message

I received notification on the task bar that there are Java updates to download. When I attempted to download the updates everything stopped at the "Windows Installer" window. The message reads:

"This application package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package".

I am running a genuine copy of Windows XP with SP2.

I have figured out the problem by myself. To correct the problem I had to go to IE, click "Tools", "Internet Options", "Security" tab, "Trusted Sites" and add the java web site address to trusted sites. Then....in that same window I had to remove the check mark from the "Require server verification from all sites (https) in this zone".

Once I did that I was able to update Java!
