  1. I want to transfer allot of files off my old pc to my new. I plugged in my old hardrive into the new pc, but everytime I try to boot up it tries to boot up off the old harddrive; which doesn't have windows on it... so the computer complains and restarts.

In BIOS, change the boot order so that it doesn't attempt to boot from the old drive or at least tries to boot from the new one first.

Have you reset boot priority since you installed the extra drive?

Usually pressing F8 - read your manual on bios access if needed.
