Windows keep crashing itself

Well My computer kept crashing lately...I didnt know what the problem was. But I went to Control Panel -> Admin Tools -> Event Viewer
it says taht I have an error following:

Type: Error Event ID: 7
User: N/A
Computer: my computer name

description:
The Device. \Device\CdRom1.has a bad block.

Here are my computer spec:
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+
512 DDR RAM
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
Geforce 6800 GT PCI-E
Windows XP Service Pack 2

I dont know what to do to fix this right now. Someone help me
