My media player ( 11 for vista) has a problem. It will play audio files, but there is no sound, even at full volume, yet i can play mpeg and wmv files with no problems at all. what is going on?

I use WinAmp for audio and Media Player Classic for video - no problems.

I'm using a laptop and I simply don't have enough space for more programs. As of now, i only have almost 2 GB of space!

I need WMP to work consistently as I can't uninstall it. Somehow it isn't in my control panel program listing?? I thought of uninstalling and reinstalling, but obviously that is impossible if I can't find the program in uninstall/change programs. Does anyone know of a WMP 12 happening anytime soon? upgrading seems to be the only way to uninstall, unless I can find a solution.
