Windows Media Player

Well I recently downloaded Windows Media Player 10. After the installation was finished I double clicked the Icon on the desktop, nothing came up. So I tried it again and nothing happened. I went to WMP support and it didn't have the answer to my problem. Can anyone here help me out?

Right click it check properties make sure the shortcut is pointing to where it is at.

Windows Media Player 10

I installed WMP 10 and fairly quickly met with problems. I found WMP10 slower than version 9 but, more important, began to get new error messages. WMP 10 doesn't seem to be friendly with my Nero 6 or my DVD writet (Plextor 712A) As I'm new to XP etc (retired School Principal) I asked an IT friend and was advised not to touch WMP10 'with a barge pole' Very untechnical but, having restored WMP 9, all my problems vanished.
