Windows Server 2008

  1. Please help me with this issue if anyone knows how to resolve it.
    I have Windows Server 2008 installed on a proliant dl360 G4 server.
I want to get rid of the speaker icon because I don't have an audio device installed, and the red x on the speaker icon is annoying to see in the system tray. How can I get rid of it?

Right-click the taskbar, select "Properties", go to "Notification Area" tab, uncheck "Volume".

Actually, it was very nice of Mictlantecuhtli to resolve this.

I just disdain (imo) make work when there are usually so many things that need attention.

Apologies to wnbawnba and a big thank you to Mictlantecuhtli :)

Oh no, no offense to wnbawnba, Mictlantecuhtli or you!

I would have posted the fix myself had Mictlantecuhtli not beat me to it.

The point was that for someone like ourselves it is almost anticlimactic when most all else seems dire!
