windows/system32/config/system corrupt, can't run recovery

Hi i know there has been a lot of treads like this, but i could not get an answer.

my computer when it turns on said c/: windows/system32/config/system
is corrupted or missing press ''r'' to start repair but

i have no disk :(! my pc's are all pre-installed

i have an xp 2000

brand: Compaq

choices: f10 and f12 do the same thing change com. settings
no recovery option.

could you please help me i don't know how to start my PC :( :confused:

hum; have you ever try this option? the \repair directory is minimal and
the registry files there are NEVER updated from an install; ergo
anything you've installed will be lost in the sense that the necessary
registry entries will be missing even though all the files are still
present ;(

the procedure referencing the \repair folder is only STEP-1 of a THREE
step process documented here:

following all three steps is fruitful (ie it works well) as I can attest
from my need to recover a corrupt registry
