    Filehippo shows an update for Windows 7.
    Windows 7 codecs 3.3.2 ( all the codecs you need for Windows 7 to play
    AVI's DVD's and more.)
    I'm confused. I go to check for updates, and it says Windows IS up to date.
    Don't know what AVI's are, But I play DVD's all the time.
    Is this a real Windows Update, that I would need, or at least, want? Or something that might make my computer die a horrible death? Ray :)

    The file type .AVI is what you get if you make a movie using a Digital camera.
    I would say that if your DVD's play ok now, then you don't need the codec update.
    I'm using W7 home premium 32 bit, and the only extra codecs installed are from here;

    I wouldn't get it. Seems kinda spammy to me.

    DVDs play just fine, and streaming videos and movies do too.
    So I'm going to leave things as they are Thanks Ray
