Windows will not boot, go into safe mode an PC freeze up

Window will not start up, tried in safe mode and cpu freeze up trying to use recovery disc. It si a northgate pc windows XP

Firstly it shouldn't be trying to run any recovery disk. You will have to see a computer specialist unless you are familiar with hardware inside your computer, if you are check all connections are plugged in ect. and that the heatsync is actually working
