Recently ive been having a problem boot up the computers using the Cds (Xp)....

each time i set the computer to boot from the cd in the boot options when it resarts it just stays at the black screen where the option ( press any key to boot from cd) would come up but it dosnt sometimes it just stays there and then just bybasses it and boot to the windows screen...

setting the computers to boot from the cd in the boot options is not the fault ive tried it with other computers of the same model and it works so....

If the CD is bootable, and you've set it in the BIOS. Then about the only things left are scratched cd or faulty optical drives. Maybe the drives are having a hard time reading the disk?

Or... the machine is old enough and you're using a USB keyboard so it's not recognizing you pressing the any key :) Got a PS2 keyboard to try out?

The Cd's are perfect, its not scratched and the optical drive are good i dont know the problem with these computers all the others boot perfectly...
