  1. A simple question, I hope. I'd like to know how to make sure that bing crap stays OFF my pc. TIA

Hi, I don't know if I have all the info you want, but in MSCONFIG there are 2 services relating to 'bing' so if you turn those off it might be all you need to do.
I keep mine running and use Bing as my search engine and home page, and the Bingbar is useful too....but that's me !!
Having the choice is what it's all about.

Ok, I know its Start>run>type in msconfig & tap enter, but what/where after that?
I realize some want it,but my preference is google all the way.

Ok,I just went into msconfig>Services & found no mention of "bing" unless its running under a different name.
