Windows XP Pro login password

    Hi all.
    My friend has just been given a system with Windows XP Pro and the password they gave him to use at login doesn't work.
    I booted into safe mode hoping to login to the Administrators account (hopefully without a password) and then go on to 'set up a new user' etc.
    The Admin user doesn't show at all just the original user name.
    Help please. TIA
