Windows XP RAM Limitations

Hey,

I was hoping someone could answer this question.

I am running a very intense program and I was wondering what amount of RAM does windows XP cap me at?

Also, if you could include a link so I can read up on it myself, that would be great!

Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

The ammount of ram you can use is determined by your mobo.

Look at your mobo manual for details.

As the person said above your memory is set by your mother board. However you can puchase memory expanders "essentualy a little module that lets you add two sticks of memory in one memory slot" I've used them in the past and the seem to work all right. Just dont expect miracles. Just a thought but most people think that adding new memory on a system with 1gb of it already installed is Irrelevant and does not inprove performance.

Hope this helps!
