Hey all I've run into a couple problems with bsod on xp lately.

first off my system

-Asus A8N-SLI (bios verison 1014)
-AMD 4400+ X2 (have amd driver software installed)
-G.Skill Extreme 1.0GB PC-3200 2-3-3-6
-XFX 7800gtx 256mb PCI-E (driver verison81.98, run these drivers because they seem stabler then others)
-Maxtor DiamondMax 10 6L200R0 200GB IDE Hard Drive
-Creative Labs Soundblaster X-FI extreme music
-Antec Neopower 480 watt ATX12V v2.0 power supply

I've recently ran into bsod mainly when I'm playing games mainly battlefield 2. I do have some backround applications such as mirc and msn messenger running but I figured they wouldn't cause much of a drag on my system. I'm just wondering why I have these bsod's and if I can fix/prevent the problem!
(minidump from recent crash attached)

any help would be awesome :)

Stop error is as follows:

Stop: 0X0000008E (0XC0000005, 0XBFB31582, 0X92EFAB50, 0X0000C000)

nv4_disp.dll Address BFB31582 base at BF9D4000, DateStamp 439abe39

Thanks alot!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

I can`t be sure from just one minidump.

We need 5 or 6 of your latest minidumps.

However, before you post them. Go HERE and follow the instructions.

Your minidump crashes at nv4_disp.dll. this is your graphics card driver. It also references exefile.exe. Do you have Eve installed on your system? If so temporarily uninstall Eve and see what happens.

Also check your system for viruses etc.

Thanks for responding so fast Howard, I've ran memory test's before and have not ran into any problems but, i will go though them again. As for evefile.exe that was the game i was playing during the bsod. This problem has occured before eve was installed and hasn't increased in frequency so i don't believe that could do anything :)

I'll try and compile a list of minidumps after following your guide

thanks again

Just to be sure, can you post your temps and system voltages? 480W might be a little weak for your system. Crashing on 3D game classic symptom.
