    Hi All,

I'm trying to help a friend after he contracted a few Trojan viruses on his computer. After running Microsoft Malicious Software Removal tool to clean the system, we decided to upgrade from Win2000 Pro to WinXP Professional. It was after the OS had been loaded and trying to start that I got the 'Blue Screen' that basically said 'Winsrv.dll is not a valid windows image'.

I do not have a copy of WinXP Recovery disk for his computer so I decided to reformat the hard drive and reinstall WinXP Pro. I got the same result:

C:\Winsv.dll is not a valid windows image.

Is there something wrong with the hard drive, or the BIOS settings and will running WinXP Recovery fix the problem?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
