Hi Everyone!

I am a beginner, and I would like to have two HDD in one PC plus both of them XP Pro. How do I have to change the jumpers or how do I have to set up my HDD which on should be a master or a slave?
I have tried but they are not start up?
Please somebody help!

1: do you have windows on the HDD you want to be C:

you do not need Windows on both drives (but is possible)

2: place the seceond HDD on the other slot on the same cable and you have it...

this might be a little incorectt if u are wanting SATA.

Hello,

i have same problem.

I have installed ...

windows xp pro on SATA 1
and
windows xp home on SATA 2
(there is a reason for this)

I used to have 98SE but now it is ancient history, but don't have ME just XP Pro
and I want one HDD for my girls(40 GB) and one for me(200GB). I've tried to put the 200 one as a Primary Master and the 40 as a Primary Slave. Still couldn't get anywhere. I want to choose at start up which HDD want to use.
I am sure there is a solution, but I am not good at all to do it, yet!
I am not sure about SATA, here to learn!
So really would like to know
1. which HDD should be Primary Master or
2. which HDD should be the Primary Slave or Secondary Master or S Slave
3. how should I put the jumpers on each HDD?
So Definitely need step by step help

if you only have one operating system you will need another to be installed on the hard drive without one to be able to do what you want to do i think. installed xp pro on both and have a dual boot.

Thanks for everyone who helped!
It is working OK!

Now I have a new problem.
I have installed a Desktop Theme, but didn't like it so uninstalled it. And still one picture still comes up when I start my PC and when shut down.
How can I get rid of it?
