WinXP only boots to Windows Starting, then reboots...

    Please help me..
    When trying to start WinXP it goes so far then gives me the options to boot safe mode etc...but when i select either of the options the pc reboots and does the same thing over and over??

    Any help would be much appreciated

    Hi. When its reboot, shows any screen (commonly BSoD)?

    Try to test your RAM using MemTest.

    as stated in the previous post, some sort of error is usually given before the computer reboots. A Blue Screen usually pops up (if only for a second) and then only does the computer restart.

    When the computer reboots do this :

    click F8 continuously until a screen pops up that gives u the option of safe mode amongst others.

    On this screen there should be an option saying something to the effect of "do not restart when an error is found" ..... thats not the exact message but just something to that effect...

    Now the next time your machine reboots, it will freeze if an error appears.. When this happens let us know what that error says :)

    Just a guess.But remove any discs in your rom or floppy drives.
