I have installed WinXP x64 on my PC, all OK from the beginning. However, now none of my CD/DVD drives are showing up. I know that they are OK, because I have used them to install OS, drivers, software and such. I am not sure when it happened, but now I don't see either one of them. Device manager says that the drivers are corrupt, but I don't see how and I cant seem to reinstall them.

For those of you what have U3 drives, you know that the device loads a virtual CD drive by default and then the actual drive. Well I do not see the virtual drive either. Device manager says that the drivers are corrupt for that as well.

What is going on?

Solution:

Well I'll be damned. It actually worked. Even U3 is working. Thanks a lot.
Do you know what actually caused the problem?
