Wireless craziness, dropping packets full bars

  1. I live in a 3 story house and the modem is on the first floor.. I had a netgear wndr 3700 and I got full bars on my laptop while in my room. But when I do a constant ping to www.google.com I get high latency and dropped packets. I step one step threw my doorway and the signal cleans up. Its weird due to the fact that I have full bars. I figured hey try a new router so I got a linksys ea4200. Same thing full bars packet loss. not sure what could cause it.

wait.... as soon as I started using it it started again... I can ping the router itself all day with great signal but in regards to pinging google its not enjoying it and dropping packets a lot.
