Wireless epson printer

Operating Win 10, 64 bit.
Have Epson WF-3520 printer. Trying to set up wireless connect instead of usb to my laptop and having trouble. Instructions say if cant connect automatically, press the WPS button on router and then follow WpS procedure on printer window. My question: Is it safe to press the wps button? Do not want to cause wireless problems.

Just make sure you select the option where you say WiFi network already exists, otherwise WPS will create a SSID and wacko password you'll never be able to manually enter later.
