My Sony laptop has stopped working

Wireless switch is on, but network diagnostics keep telling me to switch it on

During reboot the light goes on and then when fully booted it turns off

I have disabled and enabled the network adapter

I have checked the adapter and the driver is upto date and the system tells me it is working properly

Is there anything else I can check?

    Many Thanks

Go to the Device Manager and uninstall the driver for the network adapter. Restart the laptop and Windows should reinstall the driver automatically. See if this clears up the problem. If not, it might have failed. You could try going to Add and Remove Programs (if XP) or Programs and Features (if Vista or W7) and uninstall the LAN driver if one is there and install a fresh driver from Sony.

If none of that works, consider getting a USB wireless adapter.
