Write Protected USB flash drive

By Sadovsky

  1. I have a transcend 16 GB flash drive that should up the other day as being write protected when I went to put something on it. I am able to access and copy the data but not add data or remove data. I've been to the transcend website and their fixit tool didn't and doesn't work on my drive. I've searched the web and keep running into dead leads. Please help. :(

    Hi

if you can copy the data off it, try doing a format on it...

I've copied all data off it and have been trying to format it and I keep getting a write protected message every time I try to format it.

I've tried doing a regedit yet i cant find storage device polices. I get as far as that point. If I take it to a professional it will cost me about the same price as the drive itself. M getting a bit frustrated and about to call it quits. Please help.
