Hello everyone, i have an AGP Mobo, and don´t have plans to upgrade yet, i saw some great deals on Radeon X1950, but i see that there´s new ATI Series (HD 3000 series) and they still make the AGP option.

So the question is: should i go and buy a new series videcard, like the HD3850 AGP, they apparently require less watts and heat less.

But, is this HD3850 videocard as good as a X1950?

I really don´t mind about Directx version, the games that i want to play still use directx9, and i have windows xp.

Should i buy an X1950 or an ATI new series?

Thank you guys!

Ralphmex.

Pentium D 3.4
1 GB DDR Ram
Asus P5VDC-MX MoBo
No videocard (it fried, was an ATI X1300)
550 Watt PSU.

The HD3850 is definitely the most powerful AGP card you can get. I may not be a fan of Tom's Hardware, but at least their monthly "Best Gaming Graphics Card for the Money" article is never too far from the mark.
