    Hi.

Yesterday I booted up the computer and my original XP theme (as is installed by default) had gone and the interface had taken on a completely new look (now looks like WinMe) the taskbar and all user interfaces have lost their rounded smooth feel for fawn coloured square boxes and buttons.

Everything has been changed, but I have made no settigs changes. I have tried customisation of the taskbar, I have tried system restore but only the theme colours change, the rounded XP feel simply won't come back.

Is there a fix for this? Your help would be appreciated.

Right click on the taskbar, and choose properties. From there click on the tab that says Start Menu, and at the bottom switch it from classic start menu, to Start Menu. That should give you back your original settings.

Many thanks for your reply but I had tried that, with no success. Upon your reply I tried it again, just in case I overlooked something (duh!) but to no avail.

Nothing I do seems to return my windows XP to look like Windows XP!

    Help!

    Cheers,

    Nige.
