    Hi -

I'm hoping that someone will have some suggestions of what might be going on with my computer.
Over the last week my computer has been freezing (no mouse, no keyboard, have to do a hard reboot). Sometimes it's immediately upon login (I have several user profiles on the machine and it has the same behavior regardless of the login selected). Other times it freezes after the profile has loaded - but it is pretty consistent about freezing within about 15 minutes.
In contrast, when I boot up in safe mode the machine does not freeze at all.
I've run the disk scan as suggested on this website.
I've run a registry repair program.
I've cleared all the history for the web browsers.
The only recent change that I know of was a virus database update for AVG. I uninstalled AVG, but that didn't change anything.
I installed ClamWin and ran a virus scan - but didn't come up with anything.

I'm thinking that it may be a corrupted file that only gets used in normal mode - but I'm not sure how to track that down.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for giving me some ideas of where to start.
