I just updated my pc from Windows 98 SE to XP Pro Serivce Pack2. Now that I did that, some of my burned cds refuse to work properly. Whenever I try to install something from the disks, I get an error that says, " error reading source media, if reading from a cd, try cleaning the cd and try again". I was just wondering what causes that and how to fix it. I'm running a(n): Athlon XP2600, 512 mg RAM, Geforce FX5700LE, and a Pioneer DVDROM drive. I also have a 52x cd-rw drive.Any help is appreciated.

    Clean the CDs?

CD-Rs are read best in the drive they were written in. So try reading the CDs in the recorder, not the DVD drive.
