XPS m170 NIC problem

    everything is great except nic does not work
    tried downloading drivers from dell.com confusing which to use
    shows in device manager
    tried to roll back, update driver, even uninstalled and let windows find it and install it
    two new cords two different routers,they dont show on router as being plugged in???
    network connections says 1394 net adapter connected
    have to use wifi pro/wireless 2915ab
    i finally got an xps help

    ok what is tcp/ip and it says is not enabled for this connection when i click on repair
