Video game company Monolith, who were behind such games as "Alien vs. Predator 2," "Tron 2.0" and "No One Lives Forever" have today been made a part of the vast empire of Warner Bros.

Effective from Oct 1st onwards, Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc have exercised their right to buy the company, which they gained when they bought a small stake of the company last year. Monolith's headquarters will remain in Kirkland, Wash, and there is no word on lay offs as of yet.

Interesting. Will this mean Monolith will start producing games based on WB films, or remain a "free" producer?

I think it will translate in more movie-to-game rather then the other way around. They've already done 2 Aliens Vs. Predator & are currently working on The Matrix Online. They used to be an innovative company not scared to try ideas that might not bode well with the mainstream public ( blood anyone ? ;) ). I hope they keep a certain independance from WB.
