Only today we were reporting on RealNetworks new found success in online music sales. Looks like there really is money to be made.

And where there is money, there is Microsoft, who are getting into the online music business themselves as of this week. The MSN online music store will launch with the new version of its Windows Media 10 player. Apparently, first impressions are that it bares more than a passing resemblance to Apple's iTunes Music Store. But of course imitation is always the sincerest form of flattery with Microsoft. Well, until they claim to have come up with it first.

Microsoft expects as many as 130 million people will flock to its online music store when they are prompted to update their media player software.
