AMD on track with dual core CPUs

AMD have detailed performance stats which show a 30 percent performance boost between single core and dual core Opteron processors. The company also said that the chips will be about the same size as their single core brothers, and will produce about as much heat. AMD anticipate being the first company to introduce dual core chips for x86, with workstation and server solutions due in the middle of next year.
