TechSpot Poll: Best FPS of 2004

By

Now that Half-Life 2 is out, the year is complete for First Person Shooter fanatics who have received many great titles throughout the year, from the multiplayer-based Unreal Tournament 2004 to the long-awaited Doom 3 and HL2, and of course, how to leave out the amazingly vast Far Cry.

Now that you have had enough time to try them all, we would like to know what's your pick as FPS of the year? You can vote in the form at the right side of your screen.

Also here you have previous poll results, readers clearly showed a preferrence for buying PC parts online instead of retail stores:

 1. I don't think it's fair to say that most readers prefer to buy online, as the real reason comes down to cost and availability. If I could buy everything locally and at similar prices, then I wouldn't bother with online shopping.
 2. I would think that ebay is a big boost towards online results, since you can buy hard to find games, since new stores don't carry lesser known games for long.
 3. That vote was the thoughest yet at TS for me, it ended being Far Cry due to it's much more open design where you can go where you will as compared to the more linear design of Half-Life2...Too bad Deaus Ex 2 was such a miss and also that Duke Nukem Forever has not been released yet but I'm happily waiting for DX3 and Duke ;-)

 5.
"As the real reason comes down to cost and availability"
I think that was part of the idea of the poll, based on previous experience where you are finding the best deals and where do you think will be buying your next upgrades (for example) either online or at a retail store such as Circuit City, etc.
This poll was about PC parts, not games.
Hmm.. actually anything PC related (including pc games) applied .
