No virtualisation technology for Intel Smithfield

Intel's virtualisation technology is Intel's technology that allows computer systems to be partitioned, allowing multiple operating systems to run on the same physical hardware. According to recent news, it looks like Intel's dual-core desktop chip 'Smithfield', or Pentium D, will not offer this technology. There had been previous speculation that the technology would indeed appear in these new processors, but this has now been dismissed.
