While Michael Jackson waits to see if he is going to go to jail for the next million years, internet spammers and virus writers are taking advantage of the sensation surrounding the trial to break into computers, it has been revealed. Spam mails with the subject "Re: Suicidal attempt" and the message text: "Last night, while in his Neverland Ranch, Michael Jackson has made a suicidal attempt," have been appearing in people's mailboxes, together with a link that takes the user to a malicious website that will immediately try to install malware on your machine.

"If you click on the link, the Web site displays a message saying it is too busy, which may not surprise people who think it might contain genuine breaking news about Michael Jackson," said Carole Theriault, security consultant at Sophos.
